Spoke to soon

Back to having some major discomfort with my 'stomach', I was worried I had spoken too soon. 20 miles on Saturday became 10, the weekend before 23 became 16.
It is frustrating the sh*t out of me. I got told today that I look so good when I run and I'm lucky because, as the nice lady who told me this had 'not been made by god to run', presumably she thought I had? sigh. I spared her the gory details but did let her know that every step of my 8 miles with 6 x 1 mile repeats at 6:30, were fairly uncomfortable. It was supposed to be 10 miles but I called it a day after the repeats were done.
I didn't mention the frequent bathroom stops to pass mostly blood or the constant ache I have in my rear end and stomach whilst I run and sometimes for a while after. She was trying to give me a compliment after all, poor lady, I apologised for my response but she caught me at the wrong time and I found myself being the crazy lady who gives her life story when a simple 'thank you' was all that was required!

Back to the bum Dr on Friday, maybe he can help.

This is driving me crazy, I just want to run.

answers on a postcard please.

    1. Clearly you are a bum man. If you lived locally you'd probably have seen it quite a few times roadsides, must find better hiding places....... :)

  2. don't you love when you get that "compliment". don't think anybodies body was made exactly for running marathons. hope your stomach and bum issues get figured out soon, can't imagine how uncomfortable and frustrating this is for you. hang in there!

    1. I felt like I had to tell her, I don't ever want to be the person people look at and think 'she makes it look easy' be it running, motherhood, marriage, life whatever!!!! We get a tiny snap shot and we make these HUGE assumptions about people, I do it too. But yes, it does bug me a little bit, the harder I work the luckier I appear to get. Maybe we should have tshirts made?
ps I love reading your blog, you strike me as such a 'tortured' sole. I just mean you are so very thoughtful and self reflective in all aspects of your life then add to that you're incredible talent for the written word. Very poetic. They say everyone has a book in them, I disagree but you do for sure!

  4. I think it's my fault. Whilst I followed the pre bum invasion to a tee, I neglected the post...stuff. I think it's the same issue, I just didn't let it heal properly. My lack of post care will no doubt mean they'll have to do it again, just a feeling. Expensive lack of discipline, will find out Friday. Hoping it's the source of the bleeding that is causing the discomfort and not diet as I thought. Oh **** knows :s

  5. Darn, Vicky. I'm really sorry you are going through this. The doctors will figure it out, and you will be back out there running like a beast in no time. Chin up!
